The Institute for Korean Studies (IKS), in collaboration with the East Asian Studies Center (EASC), successfully hosted the 2026 Korea Night on Saturday, April 18, at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. This annual event brought together students, faculty, and community members for an evening of cultural exchange and vibrant performances celebrating Korean heritage.
2026 GW-IU Undergrad Research Exchange Program
Each year, IKS hosts the annual George Washington-Indiana University Undergraduate Research Exchange Program. Through this program, students spend an academic year conducting research on an original project related to Korea. In addition to 3 credits for either the fall or spring semesters, students receive valuable 1-on-1 faculty mentoring through the course of their project which will culminate in an original 15-20 page research project that students have the opportunity to present at a mini-conference each spring.
On March 26, 2026, at 5:30p.m., The Korean Speech Contest was held at Indiana University.
Students are invited to apply for the George Washington University-Indiana University Undergraduate Research Exchange Program.
The Bloomington Sejong Institute offers free Korean language courses and cultural events to residents of the City of Bloomington and surrounding counties.
We provide support and funding opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students who wish to pursue Korean Studies at IU. We also advance cultural fluency and public understanding of Korea through colloquia, lectures, and seminars.
