Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALC)
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures is IU's central department for study of all aspects of East Asian language, civilization, and society. Home to 31 faculty members, the department is large enough to encompass the diversity of East Asian cultures, from contemporary politics to ancient philosophy, yet small enough to provide a close, collegial environment for teaching and research.
East Asian Studies Center (EASC)
Our institute cooperates with IU’s East Asian Studies Center. EASC is a nexus of knowledge on East Asia. The center builds networks of knowledge, practice, resources, and discovery that enhance understanding of East Asia locally, regionally, and nationally.
Language Workshop
Since 1950, the Language Workshop has enabled thousands of students and professionals to intensively study languages critical to academic research, economic development, human rights, diplomacy, national security, cultural exchange, scientific advancement, and other global issues.
The Language Workshop will teach Korean language for the first time in the Summer of 2018.
